3rd International Ordu Open has taken place in ordu from 4 - 9 April 2017 by the organisation of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Chess Federation. The 9 round event is a strong  international open with 2148 avarage rating in A category  which makes the tournament  as the strongest open held ever in Turkey. Top seed is GM Tamir Nabaty of Israel featuring 30 masters from 20 different countries. Nonetheless 610 total players participated from 42 provinces accross Turkey. 20 boards are relayed alive. Total prize fund is 52.000TL ($15.000). $1650 for the first place. Time control is 90"+30' increment from move 1. On the last day before the prize ceremony an autograph session is organised joint with 1"+ 0' bullet show for media.
